Johnstown Regional Police Academy
808 Hours - Tuition $4,481* — Program is twelve months long. The program starts early September and ends late August.
Daily schedule 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday
The Municipal Police Academy, located in Johnstown, PA, is a certified (MPS 0011) unit of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission (Act 120). Successful completion of the approved curriculum will permit the graduate to test for a Commonwealth Municipal Police Training (MPT) number required of all police officers in Pennsylvania. An MPT number is essential for employment in almost all basic and related law enforcement occupations. Cadets will be eligible for waiver certification for Act 235, security guard. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be eligible to apply through a municipality for municipal police certification. At program completion, the student is awarded a diploma.
