Intergenerational Construction Technology

The GJCTC Construction Technology program offers an opportunity for students to develop the knowledge and skills most desirable for entering the construction industry. Students will progress through the major areas of carpentry, masonry, plumbing, HVAC, and electric. We place special emphasis on safety and the proper care of the tools used in the trade. We prepare students for entry-level employment working with contractors and home builders, home repairers and remodelers, service repair shops, hospitals, and self-employment. At program completion, graduates earn a diploma, and those who qualify will receive an OSHA 10-hour Safety Card.

Areas of Training

In an effort to stay current with changes and trends in the industry, the program curriculum may change during the program year and will include general training in:

  • Constructing building projects from blueprint to completion
  • Exploring and developing techniques in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, HVAC, and electric
  • Operating a wide range of professional hand, power, and air tools
