Adult Secretary and Office Management

The secretary and office management program provides students the opportunity to effectively implement related duties by being employable as administrative support professionals in a variety of settings, such as corporations, schools, medical, legal or executive offices. The program combines discussion of the theory of workplace tasks and application with hands-on training in various areas that are vital to the office setting. 

Students will obtain the knowledge and experience, with an emphasis in customer service, to prepare them for the workforce. Upon successful completion, program graduates will have the ability to obtain various certifications and memberships in nationally recognized organizations for administrative professionals.

  • Office management
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Customer/client service
  • Document production/keyboarding
  • Office technology
  • Accounting
  • Records management
  • Professional development

We’re thrilled that you’ve decided to learn more about enrolling in our program! Please follow these steps to apply:

  1. Call the adult education career counselor at (814) 266.6073 x 233 or (814) 266.6073 x 201 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to schedule a tour and/or make a registration interview appointment.
  2. You must have a high school diploma or GED.
  3. Be prepared to bring the $100 registration fee with you to the registration interview. You must pay this non-refundable fee before your interview begins, as it secures your seat in class. We will deduct the $100 from your tuition once you begin your program.
  4. During the interview, a GJCTC adult education career will review school policies and procedures along with any entrance requirements you must complete. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the program and/or the school.
  5. After your interview, you should begin the application process for financial aid (if applicable).
  6. Once you meet all the requirements, you will receive a letter of acceptance from the supervisor of adult education.
